Description / duties:
Our strict safety commitment demonstrates to guests that their thrilling experience and engaging interpretive tour is lead by someone they fully trust. Guides are the focal point of most of the zipline experience, and guests will look to them for guidance. Your attention to safety details, humorous approach, and ability to put people at ease, allows you to turn a perceived high-risk experience into a fun and informative thrill of a lifetime for guests. You set the tone, standard, and expectation of the entire experience we offer. Suitable candidates will meet or exceed these requirements by having the right mix of hard skills, humble confidence, and humor.
• Display professional leadership; interact with guests in an humorous, engaging and friendly manner while providing an educational and exhilarating interpretive experience • Ensure tours operate in a timely, safe and thrilling manner for every guest. Identify and manage risk, display the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally • Greet guests promptly and enthusiastically in a warm and professional manner • Outfit guests according to Zipzone safety guidelines • Manage the tour timing efficiently for an relaxed guest experience • Adhere to company policy, procedures and technical training protocols at all times • Facilitate a smooth transition for our guests from the ground up onto the course • Record progress through a daily task checklist, and complete all applicable paperwork • Ensuring the general upkeep and appearance of the Base Camp check - in area is maintained. • Assist with overall site appearance, cleanliness, and path maintenance
Desired Training and Experience:
• Experience leading groups, public speaking or tour guiding • Understanding the concept of mandatory safety at heights – previous climbing or related experience an asset • Work experience in the customer service and /or adventure tourism industry • Post secondary education in Tourism, Business or Recreation an asset • Level One First Aid certificate or equivalent. The course can be taken after you are hired, but must be completed before your start date • Technical mastery of all zipline equipment, rigging and course infrastructure • Proficient in all course elements, emergency procedures and wildlife awareness • Sound judgment and decision making skills • Excellent organizational and time-management skills • Effective communication skills and attention to detail • Thrive in a fast-paced, productive environment with constant change • Serious attention to details while promoting a fun work atmosphere • A self-starter who can work with minimal supervision • Reliable and consistent in facilitating high quality tours
